Underground cosmic-ray experiment EMMA
2013
EMMA (Experiment with MultiMuon Array) is a new approach to study the composition of cosmic rays at the knee region (1 − 10 PeV). The array will measure the multiplicity and lateral distribution of the high-energy muon component of an air shower and its arrival direction on an event-by-event basis. The array operates in the Pyh¨asalmi Mine, Finland, at a depth of 75 metres (or 210 m.w.e) corresponding to the cut-off energy of approximately 50 GeV for vertical muons. The data recording with a partial array has started and preliminary results of the first test runs are presented. nonPeerReviewed
Photoplethysmography Device for Detection of Changes in the Vasomotor Parameters of Small Laboratory Animals
2008
A device for observation of changes in vasomotor parameters of small laboratory animals with limited blood amount has been developed. The device contains cw laser sources (635 nm, 650nm or 980 nm), photodetector, amplifier of the absorption photoplethysmography signal and special software for data recording.
Trial on the Possibility to Assess the Static and Dynamic Balance in the Elderly with Diseases on the Level of the Supporting Joints
2019
The study aims to identify human walking disorders, proposing a model to solve these disorders, regardless of what caused them. Material and method Clinical and somatometric tests, pedometric investigations and sensors were used. An outpatient trial was conducted for a period of 6 weeks with a frequency of application of the recovery program of 3 times / week. For this study, there were 21 patients over the age of 65 years, which were divided into two groups: the witness group in which 11 patients had upper limb and / or spine disorders, and the control group with 10 patients with degenerative diseases in the knees and ankles. The tests were applied to both groups following the demographic …
